About Scout ~ Kelpie x Cattle Dog (on trial 25/2/2018)
My name is Scout and I’m a 6 week old, Kelpie x Cattle, 3kg ball of energy! I love rolling around with my brother Pez and my big foster brother and sister Zuri and Tank, although I sound like a dinosaur when I play I promise I’m full of love!
When I’ve had enough playing or have a nice full belly, my favorite place is on the lounge with my foster mum and dad for a nap.
I will grow up to be a medium to large sized dog with an energetic, playful personality and devilish good looks.
I am learning my basic commands with my foster family, but will benefit from puppy preschool once I’m in my new home-not just for obedience but for socializing and exercise too.
My ideal new family will be able to spend loads of time with me teaching me new things and understand I am still only a puppy. I would love to have a fur-brother or sister to play with especially if you work, but for the first couple of months I will need someone home for at-least part of the day as I get hungry and will need breakfast, lunch and dinner just like you!
I currently sleep in my bed alongside my sister in the laundry of a night, but on the lounge or outside in the sun during the day.
Please make sure my new yard doesn’t have any gaps in the fences or small spaces because even though I will grow up to be big and strong, I’m still very small and very inquisitive.
Because I’m only 6 weeks old I’m not available for adoption just yet! But my foster mum and dad are taking enquiries to help me find the best home possible so that as soon as I’m 10 weeks I will be ready to meet you!
As Scout is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Scout, please phone his foster mum Brittany on Brittany_wilson@live.com. Pez is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW.
Scout’s adoption fee is $550 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms.
Medical notes
Happy and healthy puppy

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
