About Raven
*ON TRIAL* Raven is a typical working-line German Shepherd - full of drive. This girl will only go to an experienced home.
At the moment she is just a big goofy puppy who hasn’t received a lot of training - she is a springy, amorphous ball of unsculpted canine who needs someone to guide and mould her into the perfect, loyal companion she has the potential to be.
Potential is something she has in droves - she has the potential to become the perfect family protector, agility master, obedience champion or flyball contender because her needs of daily mental and physical stimulation have been met.
She is hyper-intelligent and has a lot of love to give and loves to receive it in turn and I will prioritise those who will cherish her like the uncut diamond she is.
Raven loves to catch the ball and is learning to drop it when she brings it back.
She is generally quite good offlead when there are no distractions, comes when called most of the time and constantly checks in with you, like the loyal dog she is. She loves people and playing with other dogs her own size.
We are currently learning how to sit politely at each door before we go through and she is almost completely toilet trained.
Raven would do best in a home where she is the sole dog or with another well-trained large dog as she requires a great at deal of time and attention. Homes with young children will not be considered as she needs assertive and confident leaders.
If you think you have the time, patience and skill set to take on this girl, I would like to hear from you.
Please see the application instructions below.
Medical notes
Raven had a mild skin condition when she came to me but this seems to be clearing up with treatment.
She has recently had her hips x-rayed and has mild to moderate hip dysplasia in her right hip. She currently does not show any symptoms and does not require intervention. After examination from a specialist, it has been determined that it is unlikely to cause a problem while she is young, but she may develop arthritis in this hip as she gets older - however this may not ever really affect her. Keeping her at the good weight she is right now, a good diet and maintaining her fitness will assist in this condition.
She is otherwise healthy.
Adoption details
Please email me a little bit about yourself. I do not operate on a first-in-best-dressed basis. Instead, my aim is to find the most suitable forever home for the animals in my care.
Your email should include details about who lives at your home, both humans and animals and what their daily schedules and living arrangements are like. It should include details about your previous dogs and a thorough break down of the house rules you will have for this pet as well as what their typical day will look like.
