About Kiki
*ON TRIAL* Where do I even start with this sweet bundle of joy? Kiki is divine. She is one beautiful, loyal and determined soul - there just aren’t enough superlatives in the English language to do her little spirit justice.
Kiki loves to play and will gently mouth your hands (and feet) to engage you in one of her silly games.
Engaging you is something that Kiki excells at. She gives constant eye contact akin to a working breed. She loves to receive affection and will dote on you in return. Her chosen person is very, very special to her and she would follow them to the ends of the earth if her little legs would let her.
Kiki has the highest grade luxating patellas. This means that her knee caps are locked in position outside of the grooves to which they belong. Because she has had this condition for such a long period of time all her ligaments, tendons and muscles have adapted by fusing and shortening to compensate. This gives Kiki an awkward gait, but after examination from a vet it has been determined that she is not in pain right now.
Kiki doesn’t let her condition stop her. She tries with all her little might to do all the things her doggy friends are doing and much of the time she succeeds. Her ability to jump up onto furniture is compromised but she can master stairs and doggy doors.
Kiki is one happy little doggy who is full of life. Frequent short walks will do her mind and body good, and I have no doubt that this time spent with her in the great outdoors will do likewise for her lucky owner.
This little girl is social with dogs big and small and likes to have a play. She also loves kids and people and just life in general. Her spirit is indelible and she is one furry little inspiration.
Kiki is toilet trained to a tee and walks perfectly beside you at the park without straying. She loves car rides and lazing in the sun, playing with toys and giving cuddles as long as all of it is with you - the apple of her beautiful doe eyes. If she has been without you for a while she displays her joy at being reunited with little squeals of delight.
Do you or someone you know have what it takes to give this little girl the best life imaginable? Do you have the financial resources to invest in her health should she required daily medication or pain-relieving surgery?
Rest assured, any investment you undertake on her behalf will be returned by her 100-fold in love and devotion. Kiki might have a tiny, crippled body, but she has an enormous, perfectly functioning heart and she is waiting to share it with you.
Medical notes
Kiki has the highest bilateral grade luxating patellas. After consultation with a specialist it has been determined that she is not in pain and corrective surgery might do more harm than good. She may require daily pain relief as time goes on or pain-reliving surgery if analgesia is no longer effective. She is a big commitment but 100% worth it.
Kiki has lost some weight during her time in rescue but will need to lose more weight to reduce the pressure on her joints.
She will benefit from nutraceuticals such as Pentosan injections, fish oil, glucosamine and chondroitin to reduce and ameliorate any arthritic changes.

Adoption details
Please email me a little bit about yourself. I do not operate on a first-in-best-dressed basis. Instead, my aim is to find the most suitable forever home for the animals in my care.
Your email should include details about who lives at your home, both humans and animals and what their daily schedules and living arrangements are like. It should include details about your previous dogs and a thorough break down of the house rules you will have for this pet as well as what their typical day will look like.
