I’m Iggy. :) I am cute and plump and fluffy and cuddly and smart :) I love going to the beach and can swim really well. The first time I went, I didn’t know about swimming, so I hitched a ride on the back of one of the big dogs. It was really fun! I was born with a stumpy tail like some of my siblings. Foster mum reckons it’s really cute when I wag it :) I like to talk whenever I want something: when I want to get up on the chair, to ask the other dogs to play with me, when it’s time for food….. So SAFE said if you teach me how to “speak” I won’t be annoying with it. I’ll only bark when you want me to.

The big dogs are so much fun to play with. Well, they’re not much bigger than me, but they’re all grown up. I might grow to be on the larger size of medium - mum’s a medium mixed breed and dad’s large. It’s always hard to be sure with rescue pups - but if you teach me things the right way, I’ll be a really good dog.

Wanna know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I’m am assertive little pup, so it will be really important for me. I’d like daily training so that I learn and practice the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it - and SPEAK for me; and so I always obey what you tell me to do. Consistent, clear boundaries will mean that I always know the right way to behave. And of course, socializing with lots of people, dogs and other animals is important too. Getting out and about to exercise at least once a day is vital for dogs as it stimulates our brains and bodies, creates opportunities for us to socialise and tires us out. It stops us from creating mischief at home!!!!

A few hours flying is absolutely worth it for remotely located animals if it means we have the opportunity to be adopted. My airfare to Perth is $150 thanks to QANTAS, and I can fly elsewhere in Australia too.
