About Chester
Chester has a meet and greet with a prospective family soon. Chester is a delightful little fellow who is a young and healthy boy. He came to us in his time of need, he was severely sick with haemoragic gastroenteritis and spent several days in intensive care recovering. He has now completely recovered and is a very active and fun-loving little man.
Chester needs a walking buddy - he isn't a dog who just wants to lie around the house. He's happy to have a snuggle and spend lots of time beside you on the couch as long as he also gets his daily walk and some fun play time. Chester needs to be in a home with another dog to play with.
We have seen some seperation anxiety in Chester during his time in care. This seems to increase when he’s bored and decrease significantly on the days he gets plenty of exercise.
Chester would be happy to live in a family with older children, he's a social boy who currently lives in a busy foster home with other dogs, cats and active humans who make his life very fun.
Medical notes
Chester has mild anxiety. He has spent time living with our trainer and has a behaviour plan. This involves daily exercise and lots of play, plus another dog for company. Chester takes an anxiety medication which costs less than $10 a week and helps him live a full and happy life.
Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
