About Lulu ~ Shar Pei X (on trial 5-2-2018)
Lulu is a gentle 6 month old Shar-Pei cross female. Whilst we don’t know what Lulu is crossed with, we do think it’s a slender breed.
Lulu’s favourite things in life are cuddling and kissing her foster family, playing with her foster sister, receiving belly rubs and kisses and eating yummy food. Lulu is a gentle soul, who is loyal, kind and loving. Lulu can be a little timid at times when there are loud noises. However, with comfort and reinforcement Lulu settles easily.
Lulu is a quick learner and is very eager to please her family. In the past week, she has learnt to sit, stay and come. She has learnt the words ‘cuddles, kisses, wee wees, din dins, treat’ and has also learnt her own name. She has picked up on toilet training extremely quickly and is yet to have an accident. Lulu would benefit from a family who is willing to continue and commit to further training. Lulu needs positive association and reinforcement when learning how to walk on the lead. She is happily praised either through cuddles, a small treat or telling her she is a “good girl”.
Lulu has settled into her daily routine very quickly. She is primarily inside the home and loves to sleep on her foster parents’ bed, often cuddling them to sleep. Lulu thrives on human interaction and therefore it is important that she is allowed inside most of the time. As Lulu is still a puppy she is currently eating three meals a day and goes outside to the toilet several times a day. If her foster parents are not home, she will use the puppy wee pads to go to the toilet on.
Lulu’s foster sister is keeping her very busy. They love to chase each other outside and play tug-a-war. Lulu’s foster sister is a small breed (4kgs). Lulu has adjusted how she plays with her and is very gentle. We believe Lulu would highly benefit from having another dog in the home for company.
Lulu has some cute quirks that make her unique. She will wiggle her body when something excites her. For example, if you call out her name or give her a treat. Lulu’s foster mum will often clap her hands and open her arms really wide. Lulu knows this means big hug time. Lulu will run toward her foster mum and give her a big cuddle. Lulu is a very special girl who is waiting for her forever family to give her big cuddles and lots of love.
For more information on Lulu or to meet her, please contact Lulu’s foster mum Liz on 0406098925 or elizabethtreglown@gmail.com. She is currently in foster care in Windale NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Lulu’s adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
