About Gideon ~ Mastiff x puppy (On Trial 26/1/17)
Gideon is a 9 week old, male, Mastiff x puppy. He is a placid, easygoing boy that loves cuddles.
Gideon is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. He has been very well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along well with them all. He's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them.
Gideon will grow up to be a medium dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Gideon will need a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate as he would be too lonely on his own. It would also be good if someone in the household doesn't work full time.
Gideon needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Gideon's sister Geneveave is also available for adoption.
As Gideon is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Gideon, please phone his foster mum Robyn on 02 4953 7115. Please leave a detailed message and she'll ring you back. Gideon is in Glendale, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle).
Gideon's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all of

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
