About Jasper
Meet Jasper,
This gorgeous 3 year old boy will charm his way into your heart!
When jasper first arrived into foster care he was extremely overweight and couldn’t go for walks without struggling to breathe. His foster carers have been working really hard with jasper doing lots of swimming to help him get fit and loose the weight! Once he had abit more energy and had lost some weight his foster carers slowly eased him into going for walks which he now loves! The excitement when the lead comes out is the cutest!
He lets out excited barks and does twirls with happiness.
Jasper has already lost afew kgs but has a lot more weight to loose. It is a must that his new family continue this weight loss journey with him so he becomes a young active dog like he should be. Despite jasper being only 3 he is always mistaken being older due to the weight and the affects of carrying all the extra weight. We have noticed his energy levels increased and his playfulness increasing the more weight he looses! He is also a lot more comfortable and able to play with the other dogs.
Jasper now enjoys walks and has a blast swimming at the river and the beach!
Jasper would love a family who frequents the beach! He is a true beach babe! Running through the waves and swimming for hours.
Jasper is mainly an indoor dog he loves being included with the family and sleeps inside.
He wants to be where you are!
Super snuggley jasper loves a cuddle and to slobber his family in sloppy kisses!
Jasper tends to be a one person dog and clings to one member of the family.
Jasper has been in foster care with other dogs and cats.
He does get along with dogs but it does take him afew weeks to fully settle in with them.
He doesn’t really like the playfulness of puppies but is happy to hang out with his Chilled out Rottweiler foster sis. So he is best suited to a home with a chilled out dog who won’t be annoying and needy towards him.
Jasper does like to sometimes chase the cats so would only be ok with a cat that will hold their own and not be scared by him trying to play and chase.
Jasper is crate trained and loves sleeping in his crate!
Jasper does display signs of anxiety but since being in care and having a routine the anxiety has calmed down quite abit.
Jasper is not scared of storms.
Jasper loves his shell pool so if your going to adopt him jasper requests you have a shell pool for him to lay in.
Jasper has not been around many children while in care. He does seem ok around them. A meet a greet is a must if you have kids.
One of jaspers cheeky habits is to eat tissues and steal undies and socks so becareful leaving any of these lying around.
Jasper is normally quite good offlead but does have his cheeky moments where he also has selective hearing so being on alert when he is offlead is a must.
Overall jasper is a great companion with loads of love to give!
Like all dogs jasper needs boundaries and training to keep him happy and well behaved.
Medical notes
Jasper is on a very strict diet. He came into care very overweight and unhealthy. He is slowly loosing weight and getting fitter this MUST be continued.
Otherwise jasper is healthy
