About Archie ~ Chihuahua X (on trial 31/1/2018)
Meet Master Archie!
Archie is a very handsome (5kg) 9 month old Chihuahua X on the search for a new family and place to call home. Archie lives his life to the absolute fullest, if he were to create a bucket list, not doubt number one would be to find my forever home!
Archie is the sweetest gentleman and just a delight to be around, his happiness and joy is absolutely infectious. Archie is very friendly and quite the social butterfly, if he could talk, he would most probably talk your ears off. One of Archie’s favourite memories was when with his foster family went on a shopping trip to Bunnings and got to go too! He was very well behaved and sat in the trolley very patiently.
Archie enjoys pleasing those around him and has lots of love to give, he enjoys a cuddle but isn’t much of a lap dogs although he definitely would not refuse a pat. He’ll take a pat anywhere; head, neck or back, your choice!
Archie loves playing with toys, he is thrilled when you play with him but also just as happy to entertain himself. Archie has a quiet nature but can be energetic, although he needs to live inside, he loves to run around outside and this helps him to burn some puppy energy. After all his running and playing, Archie is happy to settle for a well-earned rest and doggy nap.
Archie loves dinner time, he is quite clever and his foster family are helping him to learn how to sit and wait for his meal. Archie gets super excited to see you in the morning when you wake up or see you when you come home, he sometimes forgets his manners about personal space. Archie is still a young little guy and would benefit from learning and being taught new skills and obedience. Archie is a quick learning, he just needs a little patience and time. Archie is going very well with toilet training but this is still a working progress.
Archie has the most lovely long luscious fur, his coat is very soft and smooth, this means his will require regular brushing and may benefit from a light trim/tidy up when required.
Archie enjoys going on car rides and would very much love his new family to include him in some family outings and day trips.
Archie can become anxious at times when left alone for long periods as he becomes worried and stressed where his family are, he likes to be with them and know what they are doing (just in case he misses out on all the fun). For this reason, Archie would benefit from a family where a least one family member is home most of the time where he can live inside and be a very much loved member of the family.
Archie is still a puppy and has puppy energy that he needs to burn, he would benefit from going on regular walks and a family who is happy to play fetch. Archie may also benefit from a fur friend and playmate, he is currently in foster care with two other small fluffy dogs and enjoys the company. Archie currently lives with birds and is not bothered by them, he has not been tested with cats or other pockets pets.
A little word from Archie; After reading my profile and getting to know me, do I sound like the perfect little fur companion to join your family? Don’t waste any time, you know by looking at my profile I’m stunning and absolutely adorable.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
