About Bex
Hi everyone :) nice to meet you! I was one of many dogs rescued from death row in a rural NSW pound this month. I came in extremely thin, covered in fleas and ticks, and terrified. I've definitely had a lot of puppies earlier in life but I am how healthy, happy and confident and LOVE being part of a family. I've completed my quarantine period, been fully vetted and now I'm ready to find my forever home - I hope it's with you!
I am a quiet and sweet-natured dog, who loves to be in the company of other dogs, and humans. I am gentle with children, and other dogs. I love to play and run but I am also a dog that will lay quietly while you have a sleep in, or want to watch a movie. I'm the perfect dog for a full time worker! I like to sleep inside at night but I am also ok if you want me to sleep outside. I don't really mind, I just go with the flow. I am fantastic inside the house, but because of my history with being starved I am an opportunist and will eat food left down or try to raid the kitchen bin for scraps. But that's easily avoided if you just don't let me access the kitchen at night. That is made easy because I am respectful of boundaries like baby gates.
I love to play in water. A clam-shell pool in the yard will make me a happy girl. I also love balls and squeaky toys :) and I think car rides are fun. So what do you think? Do you want to meet me?
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
