Griswold – Desexed Mastiff x Boy – Handsome cheeky lad

Little Grizzy is a 5 month old Mastiff cross boy. He is a blank canvas, ready to be trained and welcomed into his forever family. He is a healthy, sturdy, and very confident boy who is ready to learn the ropes of being a family guy.

Chances are, Grizzy was mainly left to his own devices in his previous home. At 5 months old he still isn’t fully housetrained, but we have seen great improvements in this area. At his current foster home, he is happy to sleep in a crate and sleeps through the night. He is learning to sit, wait, and give eye contact before being released to eat his breakfast. He needs practice walking on the lead, but seemed to grasp quite quickly that he won’t get very far if he pulls, and keeps coming back to a loose-lead position with encouragement.

Grizzy doesn’t show any signs of separation anxiety and doesn’t bark excessively.

He is looking for a family who is experienced with larger breeds and is willing to put in the time keep up his training, so that he can have the manners needed to spend lots of time with his family indoors. He is very confident and cheeky, but also very food motivated so should be easy to train with a bit of patience and consistency.

After his initial settling in period, we think he would suit a working family as a 2nd dog, or a family who is home a bit more during the day if he won’t have a doggy companion.

Grizzy is child friendly but can get a bit excited around the little ones (they move so quick and have such squeaky happy voices!). He is rather strong, so kids 10+ would be best for him.
