About Hilux

Hilux is big beautiful affectionate boy that shows an abundance of love ALL the time.
He's fantastic with kids and currently lives with 3 primary aged children ranging from 5-11 years which he absolutely adores.
He also lives with 2 other dogs (1 being a dominant maltese) which he likes to snuggle up with on cold nights.
Hilux has a friendly submissive nature and wants to be friends with everyone he meets. Including other dogs.
He walks well on lead once the excitement of walk time has settled and understands basic commands.
As he is only 12 months old he still has puppy tendencies and will require further training.
Overall Hilux is an amazing boy that steals the hearts of everyone he meets...however he will be best suited in a home where there is another dog for companionship. (Preferably a small dog or a dog that doesn't like overly rough play-see medical notes).
It has been a pleasure having Hilux stay with us.

Medical notes
Hilux came to Starting Over Dog Rescue after coming off the back of a ute. He sustained severe injuries and required a femoral head and neck excision and he had a fracture in his front paw.
He has recovered extremely well post surgery and physiotherapy, however care needs to be taken to ensure maximum recovery is sustained.
