About Duke
My name is Duke. I didn't have the best start to life, but now I'm putting on weight and getting some cuddles, I'm learning to play and enjoy life! I was abandoned at the pound on Christmas Day with my beautiful big sister Holly. The vet thinks I am about 7 weeks old and possibly a Great Dane/Bull Arab/ kelpie mix, so I'm probably going to be a big beautiful dog when I grow up. I like cats and other dogs, but my favourite thing is just following my humans around like a little shadow and having cuddles, I especially love my 4 year old human brother . I get sad when I'm left alone, so a doggy friend or someone to spend lots of time with me would be perfect. I'm not yet toilet trained but with some time I'll get the hang of it! My foster mum thinks I'm a pretty special pup and have so much to give a forever family.
Duke will be available for preadoption
Adoption details
If you should choose to adopt a dog from SEQ K9 Rescue:
You will be asked to complete an adoption application.
Completing this form helps us to determine if the dog is suited to your circumstances. Some dogs have special needs so we are looking for the perfect forever home for all of our dog's needs.
After you have completed and returned the adoption application we decide if you are a good match for the dog you are applying for. Sometimes we may recommend another dog we have in our care.
Next, we will arrange for you to meet the dog/puppy.
We ask that bring along your family and any other animals you have in your household. A yard check (or yard photos) will be checked and only then will approval be considered.
Please remember sometimes there are several applications for the same dog so this process may take up to a week.
The adoption fee must be paid before any of our animals are released from our care.
We also offer a 2 week trial period - if you have any issues with your chosen dog/puppy you must contact SEQ K9 Rescue via text immediately.
If for any reason the dog needs to be returned to the rescue organisation, the adoption fee minus a $50 non-refundable deposit will be refunded. Your refund will be returned via bank transfer within 10 working days.
If the pet is returned after the trial period generally no refund will be made.
Interstate adoptions may be requested to supply additional information and photographs of the proposed environment for the animal. Interstate adopter must pay transport costs in addition to the adoption fee.
If an animal is to return from an interstate adoption, the adopter is to pay all costs to return the animal to SEQ K9 Rescue in Brisbane.
