About Layla
Introducing Layla, a Bull Arab x Retriever mix......This gorgeous little girl has arrived in care at just 6wks, along with her 8 litter mates. Layla is currently being fostered in a home with her brother, Levi, 4 host dogs, a host cat, and of course, her humans (which includes young children). She loves playing with both the smaller and bigger dogs in her foster home and always up for a good rumble. Layla hasn't taken much notice of the cat so far, but is certainly learning to live comfortably with them. She's a super sweet little lady who enjoys her cuddles and adores her soft toys.
Layla sleeps both inside and outside and is learning the routine in her foster home. At this stage, no formal training has been introduced but basic commands will be introduced in the coming weeks. This sweet little girl has shown no food aggression or dominance while in foster care.
We are looking for a family or person who is willing to put in the time and effort with training and socialisation with Layla. We would love to see her in a home where she had another doggie companion but if she was to be an only dog, she would need continued socialisation with other dogs during her puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that she grows up to be a well mannered and socialised young lady. We believe that Layla will be a medium to large dog when fully grown.
We would love to help get you started with that, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina, have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘stay’, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppy’s not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Layla will be spending the next 3-4 weeks in care while all her vet work is done and will be available for adoption once this is complete. She will however, be available for meets in the coming weeks. Layla is located in Chittaway Bay, on the Central Coast, NSW.
