About Toby
Adorable little Toby is a real little desert spirit dog. He loves his walks and is mostly off lead exploring and enjoying the environment. He had never walked on a lead until recently , but he learnt that in about 10 seconds. Such a smart boy and a cooperative little soul. He hasn't had much formal training because we just haven't had the time, but if he understands what is wanted, he will do his best to comply. Being a sensitive guy, he needs a gentle loving approach to his learning.
Toby gets on really well with the other dogs and puppies in care and plays so nicely with them. He does ninja games where he darts from here to there, has a growly wrestle, then darts away, then back then gone again. He is quite hilarious. He is great with people, but he has to assess you and decide that you are a proper friend before he approaches you and starts dishing out cuddles. Once you have gained his confidence he is the best little cuddle mate. Toby loves some action and would make a great family dog. Weighing in at 12 kg he is a great size too, compact yet sturdy.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Toby's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide.
Adoption details
We request that prospective adopters email us with an initial enquiry. We will forward an application form. On receipt of the application form, we will make phone contact to discuss the adoption. We try hard to match the dog to the person, ultimately looking for the best fit for the dog. Shipping fees may or may not be included in the adoption fee, and this will be stated in the pet's profile.
