About Miss Molly ~ On Trial 10/3/18
Meet divine Miss Molly! Molly is a 6 year old Irish Wolfhound x Airedale Terrier who will have you smitten with her in a heartbeat. Molly is a large and sweet girl who is affectionate with her humans - all she wants is a family to love and trust. Molly is tan with a scruffy coat and face and warm brown eyes.
Molly walks beautifully on lead - she strolls along with you and stops when you do. She is a calm energy girl although she does have crazy bursts of excitement and play time! She has an Airedale's bouncing, jumpy energy at times and then a Wolfhound's calm and lazy nature at other times which is a well-balanced mix. She will bound up to say hi and then sit by your side or on your feet and give you kisses. She doesn't understand her size or personal space boundaries and will often be in your face offering kisses or be on your lap. When she's not on your lap she likes to lay with her front paws crossed regally.
Molly has come to us after a few stints in a rural pound for escaping and roaming. Due to her time in the pound she was reported as being selective with other dogs - however she has developed a friendship with two male dogs in the boarding facility she's currently languishing at. Even though Molly is now enjoying the company of some male, friendly dogs we would prefer she be an only dog for now so that her training and socialisation can be her new family's focus. Molly hasn't been socialised with cats or pocket pets yet so we would like her to go to a home without them. Molly previously climbed out of yards to find her people so she will require good fencing (minimum 6 foot colourbond) to keep her safe. She may also suit a townhouse lifestyle.
Molly is certainly not a yard dog - she must be allowed inside with her people. She thinks she's a person and therefore being away from her people is stressing for her. She would suit someone who works from home or who can take her to work with them. She meets new people politely. She can get startled and dash away at times so her new family will need to work on helping her gain confidence. She wants to trust you and is a total lovebug once she does. Molly would best suit a single or couple with no little kids or she may suit older kids or teenagers who are used to large dogs.
Molly loves the car - she will plonk herself onto the backseat and lay there politely asking where we are driving to. She loves her treats and will be a pleasure to train once settled in with her new family. With her friendly nature she would make an amazing companion dog for the right family. She would suit a person experienced with the Wolfhound or Airedale Terrier breeds - if you love either of these breeds then you'll be besotted with stunning Miss Molly!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
