About Alfie
Hello,
My name is Alfie some people call me Alfalfa or the Alfinator or “Hey You! Drop that!”. I am a 7-month old Siberian Husky and I am addicted to food and hugs…. In that order. I live with my foster family which includes three awesome food delivery humans, five dogs, a cat and a bunch of four legged savages my foster mum calls Horses. I originally thought the horses were large ugly dogs but after closer inspection and a rude reception I now have to be carried in their presence… to protect you of course… not because I am a chicken. My foster mum says I am “special” and not because I chase flying birds or because I can’t walk across a flat surface without face-planting, it’s because I have zinc responsive dermatitis. It’s nothing serious I just have to eat a balanced diet and have a zinc supplement everyday otherwise my devilishly handsome features are tarnished by scabby, itchy bald patches that do not impress the other dogs at the park. I do find it difficult to keep to my balanced diet as I just love food. Like Bruce Bogtrotter from the movie Matilda I cannot contain it! This means that I may occasionally slip and steal something from the bench or your plate if you’re not looking I am trying to learn not to do this but sometimes IT JUST LOOKS TOO DAMN GOOD! I do have many redeeming qualities however my foster mum says that I am a great singer…. Well at least I think she said that, I can’t really hear her over my own brilliance. It also means that I am a great alarm clock if you’re a heavy sleeper or if you forget to feed me or walk me. Don’t worry I will never let you forget these things I will remind you with a song of my choice no need to go out and buy and expensive alarm clock. I love having other dogs around especially one that likes to play! I love smaller dogs as well and I will play with them but sometimes I can be obnoxious around timider small dogs I need a dog that will boss me around a bit. I also like to play with the cat so if you do have a cat they need to be tough and tell me what to do. I would also benefit from a bossy human to make sure I don’t develop any naughty behaviours because I am a husky through and through! Although I don’t currently attempt to escape where I live I need somewhere that has 6-foot fencing and is dig proof you know… just in case there is something yummy on the other-side of the fence.
I’m also great with kiddies I love them.
