Bini

Tall young Bini was brought into care with a few of her siblings when her BYB wasn't able to re-home them. It is suspected she hadn't had allot of human interaction in the critical socialization period for a puppy, therefore she is very timid and will choose to avoid humans preferring the company of dogs instead.

Bini isn't aggressive when approached but will run and avoid people and is very scared when made to be close. In foster care she has begun to relax and is best when she knows the routine and is not allowed to avoid. She needs a home with no other dogs so she has no choice but to interact and seek comfort and bond with her family. Currently we insist she is inside with us and she is getting comfortable nearby but just out of reach of us. With a loose lead attached to her we are working on lots of positive gentle interactions helping build trust. She loves her evening walks, and trots along side on a loose lead around the quiet streets, but will spook easily if other people are around.

Bini is looking for a quiet home and a carer to help her with the slow process of bonding, she is young and desperately needs the help of a dedicated person to help her learn the world can be a safe place and she has no reason to fear. She has attended boarding school and begun to show positive signs of bonding with her handler while learning her obedience. Information on this will be discussed during her meet and greets if needed.

She is cat friendly and of course dog friendly but at this stage, dog company is detrimental to her rehabilitation so is not recommended unless in very small occasional play dates.

We are looking for someone interested in a foster to adopt situation, or a dedicated carer for Bini who has a secure small to medium yard without places she could hide out of reach, such as under the house, or behind the shed. She will need to be interacted with lots, and not allowed to just run and avoid people in a backyard. Currently she has exercise time in the backyard with only humans around her and quiet walks one on one with her carer. She is crate trained and when alone is left in the dog run or a crate inside so all her interactions are human only based.

Bini is a gentle girl who has learnt to use avoidance as a cloak, she is very playful and underneath wants to interact but something is always holding her back. She will come when called almost as if she forgets she is scared but then gets to just out of reach and then stops as she remembers, almost like its a game.

Bini is toilet trained and will wait for her walk to do her business.

Ongoing support and advise needed to help with Bini's rehabilitation will be provided by a professional dog trainer.
