About Brixie ~ Staffy X (on trial 29/1/2018)
Ladies and gentlemen! May we introduce you to the one, the only …. Brixie! This beautiful girl is a 9 year old Staffy X. But crossed with what you might ask. Well let us tell you.
Staffy x Broken Heart Medicine. Brixie arrived to her foster parents’ house just after they had to say goodbye to their best furry friend. She showered them with affection and made them feel so much better. They were very lucky to meet such a loving dog.
Staffy x Hot Water Bottle. You know how sometimes you feel all achy and tired? Look no further, this little lady will make sure you get a good portion of cuddles.
Staffy x Frog. When Brixie gets really excited (like when you bring out her food etc.) she will jump on your side as if there’s 100’s of little springs attached to her feet. But fear not, she is a well behaved girl and will not jump on you.
Staffy x Crazy dog/cat Lady. Yes, she's been living with 2 cats and few small dogs before and got along with them. Brixie's walks tend to get pretty long as she has to say hello and introduce herself to every dog and human. It would be a great bonus if Brixie had a doggy friend at her new house.
As nobody is perfect, you will need to know about some of Brixie's weaknesses. She is really scared of storms and fireworks so she will need secure fencing or be allowed inside when her humans are out. When inside during a storm, she will just curl up next to you.
Brixie absolutely adores humans and will follow you everywhere like a shadow. Her foster parents think she would be best suited for someone who is home a lot or maybe could make her their work buddy. Brixie’s foster mum took her to her office before and Brixie was a super well behaved girl, getting all the pats.
Brixie is good on the leash. She will pull at the start but she settles very quickly and walks nicely. When she sees a dog or a person approaching she will start pulling again (but only to say “hello”). Brixie's foster parents have been training her not to do it and she is getting better and better.
There's so many more wonderful things we could say about Brixie. She is toilet trained and will wait for her food. Knows few basic commands such as sit and stay. Brixie doesn't bark much and is not a digger.
Brixie would be a great family dog, as she is great with kids all ages (as long as they are are confident around dogs her size). She is very much an inside dog and if it wasn’t for the toilet breaks and her favourite walks, she would stay inside the house all day.
For more information or to meet Brixie, please contact her foster carer Olga on 0432 698 006 or olgut1@hotmail.com. Brixie is in foster care in Maitland, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Brixie’s adoption fee is $100 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
