Hi! My name's Max. I am a loving, intelligent and obedient New Zealand Huntaway that needs a new family to call my own. I love nothing more than smothering my humans with unconditional love - I am hands down the most affectionate dog you’ll ever meet!

I have a lot of energy and thrive on lots of exercise and daily runs in the park playing fetch. When it’s home time, I am balanced and relaxed, probably snuggled on the couch with you! I play well with other dogs, and I’m also very gentle with children, babies and free-ranging chickens. I do, however, like to chase cats….sorry, I can’t help it! :P

I’m super intelligent and obedient - I’ve received a lot of training and absorb it like a sponge…Did I mention I was smart?? Like, seriously smart!! But because of that I need lots of company and fun activities to keep me busy. If my humans are out all day, I would need another doggie pal to keep me company at home…that or daycare - I love doggie daycare!

My only issues are that I still pull on my leash a lot, and when I’m on a leash having a walk, I tend to get anxious and reactive if I see other dogs that I can’t run over to immediately to say hi, and I bark and make a bit of a scene….BUT once off the leash, or if I can give them a sniff, I am completely fine! So for exercise I much prefer driving to off leash parks and running around rather than going for walks on a leash. With a bit more training I'd kick those habits easily. However I must be on a leash for at least 4 weeks of my 4 week adoption trial. No exceptions!

Everyone who meets me tells me I’m truly a dream dog, and I’m guaranteed to bring mountains of happiness to my new family!
