About Roxy ~ playful Foxy x (on trial 24/12/17)
Meet Roxy, the adorable Foxy x girl. She is around 1.7 years old and has a high energy and playful personality. She loves every human she meets and has been great with other dogs of various sizes, young children and cats.
Roxy has quite a lot of energy to burn at this stage of her life and she has a tendency to want to play all the time. Roxy loves to play chasing and stalking games with her foster sister who is a Kelpie x. As such, she would suit a family with another playful dog or she could be a single dog for a couple or family who is willing to play with her and walk her regularly (maybe twice a day). Roxy will always be on the look out for the chance of a game or play-time - this is likely due to her young age and it is likely her energy levels will settle down as she gets a bit older.
At the end of the day Roxy will also snuggle with you on the lounge and enjoys a little visit to your bed at night. Roxy currently sleeps in her foster carer’s laundry with her two foster sisters and gets through the night with no problems.
Roxy came into care after being surrendered from no fault of her own. Roxy is still learning how to be a good girl inside the house and has had a few accidents inside. She will require someone who is willing to be patient with her as she learns where to do her business (and positive reinforcement and/or food rewards when she does her business outside should make this process quick and easy).
Roxy is a moderate to high shedding dog and potential adopters should be aware of this. She is only a small dog (about 5.5kg) so she doesn’t have a lot of hair but you will notice a light “sprinkling” of white hair across your floor every few days.
Roxy is a lively and loving dog. She is a beautiful young girl with a heart of gold and would love to have a family to play and cuddle with.
For more information or to meet Roxy, please email a completed adoption questionnaire (http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or
http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf) to Katie at katiehartdrn@gmail.com. Roxy is in care at Cameron Park NSW (Newcastle area) and is available for adoption interstate.
Roxy's adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
