About Buddy *On Trial in His New Home*
*BUDDY IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Hi everyone!! My name is Buddy and I am just soooo excited to meet you! I’m a super-friendly, affectionate and lively young dude who puts 110% enthusiasm into everything I do from greeting my beloved humans to playing in the yard with my doggie pals! I’m looking for a fun-loving home who will give me the time, energy and training that I need to be the best that I can be; will it be with you?
I was adopted by a lovely man in Mildura just 4 weeks ago who rescued me from a family who tied me up in the back yard and left me all alone. I really didn’t like that!! He flew me all the way from QLD and now I can’t wait to find a new family who will take good care of me. I am so grateful to have been rescued and I thank him every day with my bubbly personality and big bear hugs; literally, I wrap my arms around my humans for a big hug! I jump up for my hugs but I am very gentle and also really good at listening and get down if you ask me to.
My foster Dad tells me I am very clever! I have only been here 4 short weeks and have already learnt to sit, I am gentle, I am learning my name, I don’t bark, I am good on off-lead runs, I have learnt what ‘no’ means and I am completely toilet trained. I sleep inside and sleep right through the night with no accidents so an indoor/outdoor lifestyle is what suits me best. I absolutely love food and treats so I am very easy to train! As a Border Collie I am an active boy and need a lot of stimulation, so a home who will put the effort into my training is best for me! I have also learnt to use a doggie door and love to come in and out for a play.
Speaking of playing isn’t it just the best??? I just want to play all day long!!! I love to play with my toys and con my foster sister into a game of tug o war, and then I chase her all around the yard. She reckons I’m a tad boisterous when I play and like to get all up in her face (she says I need to practice my manners!) but I am pretty gentle with humans though sometimes I get a bit excited and want to share my bear hugs, so a home with older kids who can handle hugs would suit me best. I also play well by myself and prance around the back yard like a supermodel chasing after birds; I am quite handsome if I do say so myself - check out this video of me and see for yourself: https://youtu.be/ZAkFPCZo9S8
I also LOVE the water!! I don’t have a pool currently so I love to shove my paws and head in the water bowl to cool off. I am what you call a ‘lazy drinker’ and lie down on my stomach while sticking my whole face in the water bowl, sometimes I even blow bubbles just for fun! I would really love it if I could go for swims and have a little doggie pool in the back yard for hot days.
My foster Dad says that I am very placid and just want all the love I can get. In fact, he loves me so much that he is willing to let me take all my favourite things with me; this includes my bed, lead, collar, seatbelt and favourite toy as well as 12 months’ worth of heart worming medication. I am pretty special and everyone I meet seems to just fall in love with me 😊

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
