About Mini
The adorable Mini (also known as Mini Moo) is great little dog. She weighs in at 10 kg and is quite a lot longer than she is tall. Having said that she has a lovely sturdy little body and is an active little girl. She loves playing with the other dogs and adores her walks. Mostly she goes off lead in the bush and is really excellent at coming back to a whistle. She enjoys having a look around and doesn't bother other dogs or people. She is practicing the lead which is new to her, but she is getting the hang of it now.
Minnie loves home life and often strikes up a game with one or more of the other dogs, or finds a cosy spot on one of the dog beds or a cushioned outdoor chair. She is relaxed in the yard and happy to stay there when her foster carer goes to work, but can also be left inside on a hot day to stay cool without a problem. Minnie is just a nice lap size and she does love a lap cuddle and a belly rub. With her sweet nature and bomb proof temperament she is the sort of dog who could go everywhere with her owner. We think she would really enjoy a metropolitan café scene!
Mini is a bit of a hero to us. She was taken into care by some workers in a community in the APY lands. Then another dog in the community died and Mini took her puppies on to feed and raise. Just before she was brought to us, those same people took another few puppies from another dog to bring to us, and Mini fed and cared for them too. So her little brood was eventually 2 of her own puppies and 6 others from 2 litters. She did a great job and all those puppies are now weaned and thriving., while she is quickly getting her lovely figure back.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Mini's's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Mini is currently in foster care in Elliott NT.
