About Rosie ~ Pomeranian x Terrier (on trial 18/2/2018)
Rosie is a 12 and 1/2 year old Pomeranian x Terrier and has a lot of love and give and life to live.
Her two favorite things in the world are food and being patted. She loves to be belly rub. She has a bit of a food obsession and came to us overweight at 8 kgs but is now a healthy 6 kgs. Though she loves belly rubs and pats she is not really a lap dog, preferring to be near you feet on the floor. She is also not used to be picked up and we feel both may be due to her previous weight. She is not a fussy eater at all.
Rosie loves a walk and is really good on a lead but she only needs a short one, nothing too long. She is also a great traveler in the car and loves to go for a drive.
Rosie does bark a little, if there is someone is at your door. She can also get a little excited when it is dinner time. But her bark is more of a rasp than a loud or piercing bark. Rosie will not be suitable for a home with a cat or packet pets as she will bark and chase them.
We don't believe Rosie has previously lived with other dogs and has slowly been learning how to play. She would probably be best suited to be an only dog at home with people who are at home the majority of the time where she can potter around the yard or house. She is currently living with other smaller dogs and would get on ok with another very small friendly chilled out dog. It would have to be the right dog though.
Rosie is toilet trained and can use a doggy door with no problem. She has never has an accident inside. inside living is a must for Rosie. She sleeps well during the night. Rosie is terrified of storms and fireworks and needs comfort during any such event.
Rosie has been good with kids but they need to be supervised when patting her in case they hurt her.
She is just waiting for the right forever home.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
