About Ziggy ~ Border Collie X (on trial 6/1/2018)
Hi my name is Ziggy and I am a 4 year old very healthy Border Collie cross and weigh around 18kgs.
I am extremely well trained and do as I am asked. I can sit, stay, have excellent recall and am housetrained. I do currently sleep in my kennel outside but absolutely love my time with the family as this is my favourite thing, just to hang out inside with you.
I would make a fantastic family dog as I am great with kids. I love to play and kids make great play mates. I play fetch and love to chase the ball.
Now I do get on with other dogs but would actually enjoy being an only dog as I can be a bit bossy and protective of my people. I like to be the centre of attention when it comes to pats and love. I currently live with a cat but have little interaction with it as I don’t think it likes me much. I will chase after small pockets pets, just to play mind you, as I don’t do anything if I catch up to one.
I do enjoy a walk. If you grab that lead, I literally burst with excitement so do pull for the first 50 metres and then I settle down and enjoy myself. I have had a great time at the beach too and would love to go some more. Although I wasn’t allowed off lead.
I am a very affectionate, loving boy and like to come up for a pat by anyone at the house. When you talk to me I actually look at you like I actually understand you.
I am happy to be by myself if you work or go to school as long as you are happy to play with me when you get home.
I would suit anyone really, a family with kids 5 years and older, a young couple, an older couple as long as I you are happy to make me a family member.
I am currently living at Heatherbrae and Cellia is taking all enquiries for me. If you would like to meet me and give me a pat, please email Celia on celia4dogrescue@yahoo.com.
Ziggy’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. Ziggy is not available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
