About Miles
Miles is a medium-energy, goofy and loveable pup. He will grow to be medium-large in size.
Miles has been in care since birth and has received an abundance of affection, love and socialisation. He is good around older children, he does not jump up and loves a good pat. He can be a little shy/reserved at the start, but warms up quickly. He has stayed with multiple people and the general observation is that he is a very chilled, calm and loving boy! The home he has grown up in is where he feels most confident (understandably), but with time and patience, his confidence will grow in his new home, too.
Miles also loves to wrestle with and chase other dogs - he accepts them into his home very well, as he has grown up with different dogs coming and going. He is brilliant in the car, terrific on the lead (is quite happy to just follow along with the rest of the pack), and loves to give his foster siblings and mother an abundance of kisses. Miles currently lives with 3 adult dogs, 4 9wk old pups, and a few of his siblings. He is terrific and gentle with the younger dogs and very respectful in giving the little dogs space when asked.
He has grown up with sheep and chickens and tends to leave them alone, he has also stayed with cats and kittens, both of which he has been good with.
He is well on his way to becoming fully toilet trained and is terrific at feeding times - very patient and not fussed if the other dogs in the home get to eat first.
If Miles were to have unsupervised access to sheep, chickens, or other farm animals at his new home, a slow introduction is recommended - I can't see him doing them any harm if he's properly exercised.
An active family/couple willing to take Miles out on adventures and hikes, while also living with a larger sized yard or acreage will be ideal. He will require someone who can adequately exercise him both physically and mentally, daily, so that she doesn't become bored/destructive. As well as the commitment required to continue his socialization.
Miles will benefit greatly from going to obedience/puppy classes, if only to receive the socialisation that comes with it, so that he can grow to be a well-behaved, balanced and obedient adult dog.
Miles is a very impressionable boy and tends to mimic the moods/habits of the dogs around him. In his new home, he will need a desexed, calm and balanced doggy role model to continue on the path to being a calm and balanced adult dog himself. Having a companion will also help him settle in and keep him company while you are out.
An owner with previous experience in keeping dogs, and has an understanding in dog behaviour/body language will be ideal.
If you would like to learn a little more about our loving boy, we would love to hear from you!
Miles is located in Ballarat.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
