About Herbie ~ Lab x Shar Pei puppy (on trial 21/12/17)
Introducing the adorable Herbie, an 8 week old Lab x Shar Pei x Cutie!!
He is definitely an individual and stands out from his siblings as he is the only fluffy pup in the litter. Herbie is your typical pup that loves his play time and toys, but at the same time just wants to be a lap dog.
Herbie is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. He has been very well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along well with them all. He's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them.
We know he has Labrador and Shar Pei in him, however that’s all we can tell you. He currently only weighs 3kgs so we think he is only going to be a medium dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Herbie. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.
Herbie needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Herbie's siblings: Leo, Wyatt and Prudence are also available for adoption.
As Herbie is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Herbie, please contact his foster carer Alicia at alicia.isaacs17@gmail.com. Herbie is in care in Port Stephens (north of Newcastle).
Herbie's adoption fee is $550 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
