About Joey ~ Maltese (on trial 18/12/2017)
Meet Joey a 6 year old purebred Maltese. Joey is a very cuddly little dog who loves nothing better than to sit on the lounge and snuggle and be by your side. He loves people but he must be an only dog, he just doesn't see eye to eye with other dogs. Joey hasn't been around young children so older kids would be best also.
Joey would be great with an older person or someone who is home most of the time that could give him lots of attention who wants a snuggly companion dog. He is extremely happy inside but will also stay in a kennel outside during day, preferably only for short periods as he can suffer from separation anxiety. Joey would love a home with someone who can spend a lot of time with him. He is best left outside in a kennel rather than inside the house alone when no one can be there with him.
Joey sleeps on his bed but loves to be in your bed too, just so long as he knows you are close by. He is house trained. Joey is a very clever little dog and quite obedient and for someone looking for an only dog he'd be perfect. He loves to go for walks but it would need to be somewhere quiet and peaceful with no other dogs that could run up to him off leash. Joey will make someone a beautiful little companion pet.
For more information or to meet Joey, please contact Sue on suemasens65@hotmail.com or 0419 634 957. Joey is in foster care in Belmont, NSW and is not available for adoption interstate.
Joey’s adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
