About Missy
My name is Missy and I must say it is a pleasure to meet you. I am a very special girl looking for that extra special home.
I was left to die at a pound, but thankfully OTC stepped up to give me a second chance. I am so lovely, it is hard to see how could someone could abandon me. But you see, I have this thing called a heart murmur. It doesn't effect me too much - I am still full of love and life, but maybe that's why I was abandoned? Who knows. I hope that people can look passed my heart condition, because it will not change how much my heart can love you.
I sleep inside, and being a lady, I am very well behaved when I do so. I will either sleep in a crate or a dog bed around the house. I like to spend my days snoozing in the garden under the sun, or right beside your feet where I know we are both safe.
I feel that I am too classy to join in when the other dogs play and wrestle. I much prefer to play with toys by myself. I love my kong and I love to chase toys and play fetch, but sometimes I am cheeky and just refuse to give it back! I just love my toys so much.
I've been around cats, kids and horses and I am fantastic with all of them. I'd like to go to a family that have the time to spend with me and spoil me and treat me like the princess I am.
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
