This boy never goes a second without a waggy tail and big grin on his face. He loves to do anything with you and just spend time in your company. He is not fazed by anything and has that true happy go lucky nature. Cadell is very loving and absolutely adores getting attention from you in the form of pats and cuddles. He thoroughly enjoys playing with toys and more often than not can be seen running around the yard with one in his mouth. Cadell also loves water and enjoys running through the house, pawing in his water bowl and playing in the shell pool. This boy is just one of those big loveable dogs that puts a smile on your face no matter what type of day you have had.

Cadell is fantastic with other dogs. He has a great nature and doesn’t have an ounce of aggression in him. This makes him a great dog to take to the off lead dog park or beach. He loves meeting all the other dogs there and has been learning how to play with all his new friends. At home, he is in care with some puppies who have taught him lots of fun games that they have in the yard. Cadell is a moderately active dog who will need daily walks and lots of opportunity to socialise and play with other dogs.

Training is fun for Cadell and he is good at it. He is food motivated and willing to please. Mastered already is sit, shake and drop, and we have been working on his lead walking and recall. He is a bit strong on the lead if there is another dog in site, but if there is not, he walks beautifully. At the off lead park he is being trained with a long lead and food rewards, and is doing really well with his recall. It still needs some ongoing work but he never goes too far away – it’s always just to go meet the other dogs. Cadell could benefit from some group training classes to help him learn to listen to his humans more when there are other dogs around, and it would also strengthen the bond between him and his new family. He has also been learning not to jump or be mouthy and is making great progress in this area.

We are looking for a home where Cadell will be a part of the family and included in the daily activities and outings. He will require a home with another playful dog, though we will consider a home where someone is home most of the time and will spend a lot of time socialising him with other dogs. Cadell needs to be allowed to come inside and be with the family, and he should have a comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. He is crate trained and seems to be toilet trained, though he wasn’t allowed inside his last home. Cadell is great with kids but may be a bit unaware of his size with smaller kids and can still be a little jumpy when excited so older kids may be better. He is simply an all round great dog who is going to be a great addition to a family.
