About Dhuie (AV998)
Would you love to have a pet seal, but don't have space for the diving pool or don't fancy feeding raw fish? Then adopt Dhuie, the seal-dog!!
She's a little barrel of love and laughs who will bring joy to her new family. Dhuie loves belly rubs (there's plenty of belly to rub too!) and she is a loyal girl who will bond strongly to her people and would love to be the pampered only pet in your home. After 6 years, Dhuie's family didn't bother to claim her back when she got lost and ended up in the pound. How sad is that?? We can't imagine why! Because of her situation we don't know anything much about Dhuie's background but we do know that we will make sure she has a bright future ahead of her. Maybe it's with you?
Dhuie is not that keen on other dogs - some of them seem okay but others get a pretty stern telling off if they come to close! She can be strong on lead but actually has good lead manners and will keep moving if she's asked to - because of her fussiness with other canines, her new family needs to understand that she isn't a dog who will be up for beaches and dog parks - leisurely walks with you are more her cup of tea. Cats are an interesting thing that rather look like they need chasing if you ask Dhuie!
Someone who has lots of love to give and is ready to receive plenty in return is Dhuie's dream family. She would love someone who is home a lot or who works from home, so she can hang out with you even more! She is house-trained with lovely manners indoors and would definitely like a home where she can be in the house. Don't be fooled by her age, Dhuie still has lots of energy and needs a walk every day to keep her physically fit and mentally stimulated.
Dhuie is having a ball in foster care but desperately wants to find herself in a forever home for the New Year! Can you make her wish come true?
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
