About Laddie
Laddie is an intelligent, bright and slightly cheeky little dog. He is loyal and affectionate. Laddie is such a happy and spirited little dog, he's a joy to have around.
The Kennel Club lists the chihuahua breed as "charming and sassy" and that suits Laddie to a t. Like many chis - he is strong willed. However he is also incredibly intelligent and fast to learn. He responds really quickly to training and is totally delightful.
Laddie has been fostered by our trainer and she has found Laddie to be super fast to learn, responsive to training and clever. He is a dog who benefits from structure and an owner who understands the chihuahua attitude.
The best home for Laddie is one without other dogs. He really wants to be an only dog. He just loves to have all the attention for himself.
He needs a home that will commit to ongoing positive training. A few minutes of mind-enriching training really benefits Laddie.
Although being only 6, Laddie has horrendous patellas and joints. He has had three seperate surgeries, two done by a specialist, and there's very little else that can be done now. He needs a good diet, supplements and a daily pain relief tablet. Laddie is best in a home without stairs.
Laddie weighs about 5kg and some have suggested he could even be a chihuahua x Tibetan Spaniel? He's just beautiful and he deserves a beautiful home. Make sure you check out his video.
Medical notes
*** Laddie is a special needs dog. ***
Laddie has a condition common in chihuahuas- luxating patellas. He's undergone two patella repair surgeries and two follow up surgeries however his knees have degenerative joint disease and he requires ongoing monitoring.
From here, Laddie requires a good diet, joint supplements and daily pain relief tablets.

This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant X-rays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
