About Jack ~ Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog (on trial 3/1/18)
Hi, my name is Jack and I am a 12 month old stumpy-tail Cattle Dog boy. I am very friendly, energetic and inquisitive. I love to socialise!
I love having a big back yard with lots of toys to play with. I love spending time with people – playing tug-o-war and fetching a few balls.
I am very proud of my obedience skills so far. Since I have been in foster care for just two weeks, I have learnt sit, down, sit for my dinner and go dead to roll over for a tummy rub. I am doing really well with my lead training and sitting when we stop out on a walk. I’m ready to learn more.
I’m an outside dog at my foster home. It’s a treat when I come inside for a couple of hours at night when I can just sit or lie and be part of the family. I sleep in my kennel at night without any disturbance. If I came to live at your place you could have me inside as much as you like!
I’ll bark if there’s something new happening – someone at the door or if I see a big green frog in the middle of the night – but I know when to stop and I’m definitely not a nuisance barker.
I love people – I’m not really a jumper, but I can stand up on people - my foster parents are working on that. I love to chew – all sorts of toys. I do like to do a bit of gardening too.
I need a family who has the time to exercise me regularly, and preferably with a bit of space so I can run around and entertain myself. My current foster home has some chooks and a cat. I bark at the chooks because I like to watch them jump. I’m not allowed too close to them. I wag my tail like crazy when I see the cat – I’d love him to be my friend but he’s just not interested.
I don’t live with dogs so my people can’t say too much about that, but when I went to the pet shop the other day, I was so excited to see all the other dogs and my tiny tail was wagging as fast as it could. If you already have a dog or two, I’d need to meet them first.
I have a lot of love to give, and need the perfect family to share my love with. I am a real smoocher and just love a good belly rub and I can't wait to find my forever home!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
