About “Lexi” - Fear of Missing Out (fomo). Melbourne
Lexi’s a tiny black greyhound (only 24kg) with oodles of enthusiasm! Lexi loves playing with her squeaky toys, zooming around the yard with her foster siblings, jumping in and out of her clam shell pool in summer, and generally being part of the action. Her foster carers say she has a chronic case of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), shadowing her human and canine foster family to make sure she doesn’t miss the fun.
Lexi’s high-energy antics means she’d like a home with plenty of space, and canine companions to join in her playfulness – although she’s also proving to be an excellent office dog, and can stay calm when she needs to. She loves human playmates too (aged six or over), and gets on brilliantly with the children in her foster home. Lexi’s not cat-friendly, and is best with similarly-sized dogs who can hold their own in a game of chasey. Lexi has also requested a home with plenty of delicious snacks, including pears, which are a personal favourite.
Although you wouldn’t believe it now, Lexi was terrified when she arrived in foster care, hiding under her foster carer’s desk. But once Lexi realised how good life is, her cheeky, quirky personality has truly emerged. She bounces like a rabbit when she’s tickled, loves hoarding everything from toys to cardboard boxes, and has a contagious smile and magnificent waggy tail that clears everything in its path. Don’t miss out on the chance to adopt this little darling!

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
