Poppy

Poppy is an adorable 6 month old 7 kg girl who we don't think will grow much bigger. Her mother is also in care with us and is just a shade over 10 kg (photo of mum included).

Poppy came to us from the APY lands in northern South Australia. She was taken into care by a couple working in the community with her mum when her owner had to leave his dogs and move into supported care. Poppy has been living inside and outside and is fully housetrained and very well behaved. She is used to being with a lot of dogs and plays nicely with the younger puppies and also with the older dogs. She is great with people of all ages too, and has a very friendly nature.

Poppy loves to have a cuddle on the couch , the bed, or any lap! Despite that she is an active little dog who loves a walk and is really interested in exploring. She will make a great best mate for some lucky person, and with her natural good manners will be able to go anywhere with her owner and not cause a problem.

Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Poppy's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Poppy is currently in foster care in Tennant Creek.
