About Maracas (CaV17-176) and Samba (CaV17-177)
Do you need a new rhythm in your life? Need to spice things up a bit? Well get that Maracas shaking and start doing a Samba because this amazing pair are here to change your world!
(Note we do not advise shaking Maracas the cat, she is unlikely to enjoy this).
We're going to be honest here - rehoming mum and kitten pairs is hard. They seem to be the ones who are over-looked time and again by families (just like yours!) who are scrolling through these pages. This is a bizarre phenomenon because pairs like this one are about the most adorable thing you can find. You get the joy and delight of a bouncing kitten and the love and affection of a patient and enduring adult cat. You get someone else to babysit the kitten for free! And you get to enjoy the glorious and unbreakable bond between a mother and her child.
Maracas had her babies in a hay shed in Goomalling. She is a very friendly, people-loving cat who must have been dumped or become lost. She had 4 little kittens - 3 ginger boys just like her and 1 tortoiseshell female - and kept them tucked away, hidden and safe. When they were around 6 weeks old, the babies began emerging and exploring and that was when the farming family found them, but at first the kittens were very timid. Maracas and two of her kittens were caught and brought into care. It was nearly two weeks later that Samba was finally able to be captured and reunited with his mum and oh my - what a reunion it was! Maracas immediately began licking him all over (he was pretty filthy!) and literally pulled him to her as though in an embrace. After recovering from the initial shock, Samba started suckling right away. He was lucky to have survived without his mum for those two weeks and now he cannot bear to be away from her.
Maracas and Samba are both accepting of other cats so could be introduced to pre-existing feline family members (slowly, of course!) They haven't had much exposure to dogs but may adjust with another slow introduction. Maracas is a super smoochy, people-friendly cat who could live with children or pretty much anyone but Samba is an extremely shy little boy who will want to spend the first week or more hiding away from you - so it's your job to be patient and kind and coax him out gently so he learns how friendly and loving humans can be.
If you want to dance to a whole new tune, these are the kitties for you!
*LOCATED IN NORTHAM BUT CAN BE BROUGHT TO MIDLAND FOR MEETS*
Why yes, since you asked - it is fairly rare to have a solid ginger female, especially one with kittens! But in fact it is becoming more and more common to find stunning ginger girls.
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
