About Alfie
Alfie is a special man, an unusual mix of a Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog and a Labrador. He was a reluctant surrender due to his new landlord not allowing him to have his dog with him. Alfie has a very loving nature is wonderful with people and kids, gets on well with other dogs, not sure about cats as he does not know whether to bark at them or to play with them. He wants to be a part of the family and is not a dog to be left outside his family pack is inside . He is a very smart dog so would love to go to training to learn new things to do. He is an affectionate dog and needs to continue his socialisation and training. He is desexed immunised microchipped and has had regular parasite and flea treatments.
Medical notes
This beautiful dog wanted to be in the next yard to play with some other dogs but there was a colour-bond fence in the way, which had been strengthen and riveted together. He kicked so hard that he kicked it open but lost his balance and cut his leg right open. Alfie is such a beautiful special little man that we made sure he had the very best veterinary treatment and is completely recovered thanks to the wonderful staff at Riverbank Animal Hospital. Now he is running playing with the other dogs and is waiting for his special new home.
Adoption details
HappyPaws Haven is fussy about who adopts these animals and where they are housed and cared for. The adoption criteria is documented as a questionnaire and strictly adhered to. We do not adopt animals to people who rent unless they are long term rental at the same address and have landlords written permission.
We ask if they have thought about the attributes they want in a dog, lifestyle, childrens ages, prepared to train, etc. We also talk about responsible pet ownership, fully fenced yards, hours unattended etc. and finally a vet reference.
