About Spotty Levi
Spotty Levi won the hearts of our team the moment we met him. He is a striking little dog with personality plus. Spotty enjoys his daily walks, loves a good game and is even attending obedience with his foster family.
Spotty is an all-round fantastic little dog. His carer just adores him, as do the vets and nurses who have been looking after him whilst he's been in our care.
Spotty is friendly to all he meets- he's good with kids, good with other dogs, good at home... do you get the point that he's just a darn good dog? Sometimes he has a little yap at other dogs when he's on a lead but he means no harm.
Spotty Levi loves people and he would do best with lots of company. He's such a loyal companion.
However, the reason Spotty Levi came to us is that he does have some medical issues that require him to be on daily meds.
Spotty has sensitive skin, so he takes an allergy tablet eat day with his food. He also enjoys a low-allergen diet and is bathed weekly in oatmeal shampoo and conditioner.
He also has an annoying condition called Dry Eye where his little eyes don't quite produce enough years to keep his eyes healthy. This means that Spotty needs daily eye drops, but in true Spotty style, he let's his foster mum put these in without any fuss.
The family who adopt Spotty will be truly lucky. We all wish we could adopt this little guy, he's just such a great all-round mate.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
Spotty takes a little tablet daily for his sensitive skin. This is called Apoquel and when we trialled him off the medication, his itchiness increased. We are hopeful that he can come off this medication in time, however it is one that is safe for him to remain on long term if needed.
Spotty also gets daily eye drops as his eyes do not produce enough tears. His medications cost about $25 a week.
