About Bella
Bella means beautiful and there is no more fitting a name than that. She is a true delight and could pretty much fit into any family.
Bella is social and loves to potter around the garden with her foster siblings whilst her foster mum is at work. She's also the perfect couch potato companion and will offer her snuggling services each evening.
Bella's story is sad, particularly because she is such a sweet girl who has been affected by a whole list of medical issues. Our role has been to address these and try to make us much progress as we can to overcome her health complaints so that Bella can leave our care so much healthier than she was when she came to us.
Bella was loved by her previous owner however she wasnt in a financial position to address Bella's medical conditions and so Bella's health was rapidly deteriorating and she was suffering.
When she arrived in care, Bella had untreated Cushings Disease, skin issues, arthritis and eye issues. Since being with CRQ, she has been seeing our vets regularly. Her skin has improved out of sight. Her Cushings is being controlled by medication and she has eye drops twice a day. Recently she had surgery on her eyes with the goal to decrease her daily eye meds if all goes well.
Bella's medical conditions were complicated when she arrived but thanks to our Vet team, Bella is now on a clear treatment plan. Her quality of life has improved and the love she gives so outweighs the hassle of giving her daily meds.
Medical notes
*** Bella is a special needs dog who will require life long medication ***
Bella has Glaucoma and Cushing's disease which is being controlled with medication. Currently her medication costs are about $40 a week.
Recently she had major surgery on her eyes with the goal being to reduce the amount of eye medications needed.
Her Cushings medication is given orally and she will come with a 6 month supply of Cushing's meds.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant X-rays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
