About Italus
Introducing Mr Lovable!
Italus is such a beautiful and affectionate dog who would just loves being around you. Rub his belly and he will be your best friend forever! Italus can be a little timid around strangers at first but it doesn’t take him long to warm up at all, and then he is their shadow looking for attention. He loves his bed and is more than happy to sit down on his bed by your side and relax. When its playtime he turns into a puppy and is just so cute! He loves balls, toys and sticks, and enjoys playing fetch. Italus has that nice balance of being chilled inside but happy to go outside for a play with you as well, which makes him a great dog to have around.
Italus has always lived with other dogs and enjoys having a good play with his friends. He is best introduced slowly to new dogs so that he is not overwhelmed by them. His playmates should be around 20kg or larger as he doesn’t really understand how big he is and gets a bit overexcited by little dogs. Exercise for Italus will need to consist of on lead walks and he will need a daily walk to keep him happy and healthy throughout his life.
All his basic training has been taken care of – Italus can sit, drop, shake and a few other tricks. He is house trained and well behaved when left inside. Italus will take himself off to bed when he gets tired, sleeps through the night, and loves his morning sleep ins. His new family will still need to take him to some group training classes though – this will be a very important part of his transition to his new home. Doing group training classes will allow Italus to bond with his new owners and the mental stimulation will help him settle into his new home more easily.
We are looking for a home where Italus will be a part of the family and allowed inside the house. He prefers not to be locked out in the backyard, even when you go out. Italus can be an only dog but would then require someone who is not working or working from home. He can live with a part time worker who is home more often than not if there is another suitable dog in the household who is calm and friendly to keep him company. Italus is better suited to a quieter home environment so if there are any children in the family then they should be older teenagers. He is going to make a great companion for someone who can give him all the love and attention that he deserves.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
