About Sabian
Sabian is a 1 year old pup in need of an experienced child free home. Sometimes a very boisterous 60kg pup can be hard to manage when they are still learning how to control their impulses – this is Sabian! His over exuberance has shown that he is currently not suited to a home with children. Sabian has huge potential but will need very strict rules and boundaries and a human who is accomplished in teaching a young head strong giant dog the fundamentals of being a good canine citizen. We need to make sure over the next year or so that Sabian’s new home are ready and able to put the time and effort into his training so that he can mature into not only a fun loving but well-mannered companion.
Sabian is an affectionate boy, great with people and accepts visitors happily but currently is still a little rude with his jumping and lack of space awareness. To give Sabian every chance at maximum training time we are looking for him to be an only dog. As he learns more social skills he will be able to enjoy more doggy friends. Introductions need to be done very slowly while he’s learning how to greet calmly and politely.
Sabian has strong prey drive and therefore his new home will not have any small animals unless they are secured in a separate area 24/7. This includes inside cats as Sabian needs to continue to be able to be inside with his family for the most part when they are home.
In foster care Sabian is progressing well. He happily goes in his crate by himself to be with his Kong and toys. He’s in no hurry to get out after spending time in there while his foster dad is out for a few hours. He travels well in the car and is walking better on the lead every day.
Right now the world is one big, exciting, and over stimulating place to be. If you have equal amounts of enthusiasm to direct into training and raising an exceptional Great Dane we’d love to hear from you!
