About Malibu
Introducing Malibu, She was rescued by OTC as She was left to die in a rural pound. Since coming into care Malibu has opened up with her personality and her overall health has improved with the great nutrition, the love an care shown and getting all her vet work completed.
Malibu sleeps in her crate at night inside she loves her crate more than any other dog And she has found it to be her safe place and when things are to crazy or scary or she just wants some quiet time this is where you will find her.
During the day Malibu spends her time outside as her fosters work full time. Malibu spends her time playing with the other dogs eating bones and playing with toys. She loves to lay in the sun in garden beds or long grass. Malibu had picked up using the electric fence super quickly and is happily contained in the yard with a 4ft fence and the collar.
During the evening and in the mornings she hangs out inside with us and the other dogs if she the other dogs are calm she is calm she loves laying down where ever you are and is getting very good and morning bed cuddles.
Malibu loves squeaky toys and just any toy she can pick or that the other dogs are playing with. Her favourite place to hang out inside is the tepee where the toy box is so she can have access to every toy.
Playing with the other dogs would have to be near the top of the list of her favourite activities. Malibu loves to share toys with the other dogs and chase them around the house or yard. She also loves quiet time just curling up at the end of the day near us.
Malibu has not been tested with kids or cats and she is in quarantine. Malibu is an active dog that would suit an active family with older kids.
Malibu loves the other dogs, she plays nicely with both Mena who is bigger than her and Cedar who is a puppy. She can be a little food defensive and likes to if she is left alone collect all the dogs bones for the other dogs and put them in her pile but she is learning to share food.
Overall Malibu has the most wonderful eyes and is just really easy happy dog. She does have a lot of energy like any working breed but isn’t overly excitable. She has really taken to snuggling in the last few days now she is settling in and knows she is safe. She is fairly good and sit and shake we are working on food manners and her recall but as she is very food motivated it makes it very easy to train her.

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
