About Missy ~ Fox Terrier X (on trial 19/1/2018)
Hi, my name is Missy. I am a 9 year old Fox Terrier cross. I’m looking for my forever family and I have lots of love to give once I get to know you. If you’re looking for a best friend that will be by your side always and is a happy, easy care girl, then look no further, you’ve found me!
I might be a bit shy and nervous at first but with love and patience and a little time I will thrive in my new home.
I can quite happily sleep in my bed in the laundry all night without a peep but I would love it if I could sleep in your room or on your bed would be even better!
I am toilet trained and will let you know when I need to go outside.
My foster parents tell me how clever I am all the time and what good hearing, and sense of smell I have. I am pretty good at knowing what you are telling me or asking me to do but sometimes I might not listen, unless there is food or treats involved and then I’m all ears. I really love my food.
I just love being with my people so I would be most happy if my new family were home most of the time. I tend to bond with the female of the house (us girls have got to stick together) but I will grow to love your other half as well. I haven’t been around children much and I’m not sure about cats. I would prefer to be an only child so I can have you all to myself but I may be ok with another dog.
Wherever you go, I want to go too. I don’t want to let you out of my sight for a moment in case I miss something. If you sit down, I want to be on your lap. I love a scratch on the belly while sitting on the lounge with you in the evening. Once I am comfortable in my new home I will be content to lay on my bed and watch you or sit outside in the sun and relax.
I love my daily walks and I think I’m pretty good on a lead.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
