About Moose
MOOSE & MIA NEED TO STAY TOGETHER.
OLDER CHILDREN ONLY.
Special training paid by SRV offered depending on area.
Hi my name is Moose, I really want to stay with my friend Mia, we’ve lived together nearly all our lives so hopefully there is someone out there that wants two dogs for the price of one. Like Mia I have pedigree papers.
I’m a lovely boy, I’ve been to obedience school and know how to sit, stay, heal, leave, give, watch, go and have recall.
I love bathing in water or mud if you let me.
I’m very talkative and love my cuddles, I will pull on the lead if you let me and I can jump up VERY high, as high as your head!! So I need to go to a home where there are no small children.
I can get rather excited with toys, especially squeaky ones so you need to watch my arousal levels so I don’t get over excited.
I really need to go to obedience school with my new owners as the previous owners didn't take me and now I can be reactive around other dogs. So unless you're going to commit to taking me please don't apply.
My birthday is the 12/2/13 so if you want you can bake me a birthday cake each year, Mia would like that as well and we will share it with you.
Below are some notes on my behavioural assessment.
Summary of Test –summary of observation and testing
• Moose is a relatively sociable boy with humans
• He is able to tolerate touch and restraint well
• Some level of wariness to sudden environmental stimuli but no adverse behaviour prevalent
• Moose has mid-high levels of drive and will jump up very high for the toy. He also likes to play tug and tugs quite strongly.
• Was not taking food from bowl at time of testing, but did take a few treats from hand gently.
• Has been to obedience school and can sit and stay, drop and stay and recalls. He walks well on lead but will pull if you let him.
• No outward reactivity towards other dogs but does not like other dogs coming up close and will aggress.
Adoption Criteria
• Will require a strong and competent handler/owner
• Nil small children due to jumping up
• Not tested with cats.
So if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above, and, in return, I’ll give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for! Please go to www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au where you’ll find the Adoption Application. Please make sure you read all the information on the Adoption page, as well as the links at the bottom.
