About Loki
Loki is a sweet and gentle staffy x who needs a playful doggy companion of similar size, he loves a good belly scratch and cuddles with his people. He loves dogs & kids and is currently in care with a large female puppy & four children aged 4-10. He gets along well with them all and is very passive when his doggy friend takes a toy or shoves him out the way for their humans attention.
While he has been in our care, Loki has been introduced to other dogs with no issues and has been amazing with every person he's come across. A lot of Staffy's suffer anxiety when they are left alone and considering how much Loki enjoys the company of other dogs only homes with a similar dog will be considered.
He was in foster care with another group before coming to us and has been sharing his days with lots of other dogs. More changes will only cause more insecurities so a happy go lucky dog pal will be a great way to help him settle in quickly.
Loki can be a little timid with loud noises and unexpected movements but is getting more confident the more he settles in and knows he is safe. He will thrive with a gentle hand, a lot of love and a doggy friend who isn't too pushy and is willing to share to ensure he's happy too.
This young man is very clever and aims to please. He knows sit, drop and stay but needs some work walking on lead as he tends to pull a bit but is starting to get the idea of what a nice walk is all about. He does run if he gets free so will need someone who will be willing to work on his recall and show him you're far more exciting than anything else he may pass by. His new carer's voice is also not familiar to him yet so learning his new family will also be a bonus to gettng Loki to return when called.
Because of his timid behaviour, he needs a lot of positive reinforcement with a firm but calm family.
In his foster home, Loki has an inside bed which he loves to sleep in. He does jump on the couch or bed without invitation but will hop down when asked. As a typical Staffy, he likes to be close to his people. He still needs to learn some inside manners. He has been caught on the dining table a couple of times when food has been left out and we've walked away but again, he gets down as soon as he's asked. He sleeps inside at night but will nap outside in his kennel during the day.
Loki is toilet trained and we are working with him to discourage marking inside the house. He's been recently desexed and we're hoping that will make things a bit easier but he may need a close eye when inside for the first week or so while he settles in.
Loki has not been tested with cats so will be looking for a home with NO CATS.
He is a gorgeous boy with a beautiful personality, his future family will be extremely lucky to have this sweet guy join them.
Loki is currently located in Doreen, VIC
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
