About Ned ~ Border Collie x Kelpie (on trial 3/12/2017)
Ned is a gorgeous young Border Collie x Kelpie who is 6 months old.
His greatest assets are his most beautiful green eyes and do we need to say anything about those ears!! His red coat is something also that deserves a mention.
Ned is still very much a puppy. He knows how to sit and his recall is very good. He is still very excitable and does jump up on people for attention. He is learning fast that if he is asked to sit, he gets lots of pats that way. Ned would benefit with puppy training classes. Ned is in the process of being toilet trained and if vigilant with taking him out, knows when to go. It is still a work in progress but he does sleep through the night without incident as long as taken out just before bed. Ned is currently sleeping inside on his bed.
Ned hasn’t had much exposure to the big wide world and he can be quite overwhelmed by it all. He is a bit scared of the noises of city life as has come from the country but with time and some patience, I am sure this won’t be an issue. He likes to go for a walk but at this stage it needs to be somewhere where there aren’t lots of cars. He is getting use to being walked with a walking harness.
Ned loves to be with the family and happily follows you around both inside and out. He will need to be allowed inside for family time and to sleep. He is great with other dogs and is currently living with two other dogs. It would be nice for Ned to have a doggy play mate but not essential if someone is home some of the time. When left at home, he just finds a quiet spot to have a nap.
Ned would suit a family but the children would need to be over 8 years old as he jumps up for a cuddle. He would also suit someone young or a semi retired couple who are home some of the time to spend time with him.
If you would like to meet Ned, Please contact Sharron on 0423 331057 or sstudley3@bigpond.com. Ned is located in Merewether Heights in Newcastle.
Ned’s adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
