Mataro

Check out this cutie!

Mataro is a very cute little bundle who makes you smile. He gets super excited to see you and jumps up to say hi whenever you come home. Being by your side is big on his priority list and he can often be seen sitting right by his carer. He loves some gentle pats and will happy sit in your lap while you give them to him. This boy is still young and can sometimes be caught raiding the toy box in his foster home to find something that he likes which is usually a stuffed toy. If your looking for a dog to hang out with and who will join you infront of the telly or while you read a book then read on!

Mataro is fine with other dogs though usually just prefers to do his own thing which is usually centered around his favourite people. However, he has taken a real liking to some of the pups he’s met while in care and has been seen playing wrestling games and lying in the sun with them. He has lived with another dog before and been in care with numerous others. Mataro is only little so doesn’t need huge amounts of exercise but he would enjoy a daily walk so he can get out and about. In saying that, if you would like to go on longer walks he would be happy to join you and have no problems keeping up.

This boy came to us with little training. He has been learning to sit while in care but he knows how to walk nicely on a lead and stick by his human if off lead. Mataro has been learning toilet training and is very responsive so this will only need to be reinforced in his new home for him to get up to speed. At night, he likes to be nearby and will happy sleep through cuddled up with you if you let him sleep on the bed.

We are looking for an experienced home where Mataro will be a part of the family. He can have another calmer doggy companion or do without, but he would definitely love it if his new owner was around most of the time so we will be looking for this. Mataro should be allowed to have access indoors and will require a warm comfy bed to sleep on inside at night. He is not suitable for a family with children and would do best in a quieter adult household so that he can relax his days away. Whoever adopts this boy will get a great companion to hang out with and spend their days with.
