About Angus ~ blue heeler (on trial 30/12/2017)
Angus is a six and a half year old Blue Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) who would like nothing more than to find a home with someone that understands cattle dog traits. He is very handsome and cuddly, not to mention super smart.
Angus is a loveable and loyal dog who seems oblivious to his size (medium) when he curls up on your lap for a pat and a bit of a nap. He loves interaction with adults and will happily follow you around the back yard while you work. Of course, if you want to throw him a tennis ball while you're at it, that would be an added bonus! He loves playing fetch.
Angus loves running, so if you want a running partner or have a goal to get fit for the new year then this dog is for you! Angus loves nothing more than a bash through the bush.
Angus has had extensive training and is very obedient. He will sit, stay, drop, and come when called (though naturally he can become distracted by other dogs sometimes). Angus is also house trained.
Angus would thrive in a home with a single person or older couple with grown kids. He is a very sociable dog and would love to be in a home where he could enjoy spending time with his new owners both inside and out. He currently sleeps in his kennel in the garage.
Angus is not suitable for a family with kids over 15 as he doesn’t understand younger children. He would be better as an only dog; although with slow introduction he might be OK with a friendly, calm, female dog. He is a bit reactive when out and around other dogs. Pocket pets and cats are also a no go for Angus. Angus would really appreciate someone who is patient, dog savvy and willing to understand him. He will repay your understanding a million times over with all his affection, loyalty and cheerful presence.
For more information or to meet Angus, please contact Bronwen by phone 0413729229 or email: br0nn13@hotmail.com. Angus is in foster care in Rathmines, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Angus's adoption fee is $300 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
