About Doug
Try and resist this face! Gorgeous Doug is such a handsome boy.
This darling little man has had a bit of a rough start to life. Doug is a special boy who was accidently run over at 12 weeks of age. He broke the ball of his femur so had a Femoral Head Osteotomy - surgical removal of the head and neck of the femur (the ball part of the ball-and-socket that makes the hip joint). Once the femoral head and neck are removed, the surrounding muscles and developing scar tissue work to support the area, and act as a false joint. Doug should not have any negative effects from the surgery other than the leg may never be as strong as the other. Doug will also need to maintain a slim build to avoid any extra pressure to the area.
Doug is an 18 week old Border Collie mix who is super smart and eager to please. He just loves people and loves attention. Doug has great social skills with other dogs and is fantastic with kids. Doug is water crazy and loves to swim which is a great thing because swimming is great exercise for a pooch with an injury. Doug has been living with his foster family both inside and outside and is fully toilet trained.
If you would like to find out more about this little sweetheart and organise a meet and greet, please follow the adoption procedure below. Doug is located in Kempsey, NSW.

Wally's Doggie Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
