About Hume
Are you ready to meet a very special pup?
This is Hume and he has been on quite a journey already in his short life, but is now ready for a new journey with a loving family. He came into care as a young pup with his litter mates and had congenital skin tags on his face which made him look very different! Since then, these have been removed and he’s now even better looking than he was before.
The way Hume looks at you when you say his name says a lot about him. He is inquisitive, affectionate and playful. Hume loves attention and affection from his people. When you give him pats and tummy rubs his face just melts and you know he’s in heaven. He enjoys cuddling up with his doggy friends and humans for naps and cuddle time. Hume is still a bit jumpy and mouthy so he will benefit from some ongoing training and will be better suited to older or no children.
Playtime is high on Hume’s priority list. He loves to play with toys and the other dogs. Chasing games are common, but so is wrestling. A home with another playful dog is virtually a must for Hume as he enjoys the companionship and stimulation. He is well socialised with other dogs though can be a bit cheeky with the smaller ones or ones that don’t want to play with him as he will try and coax them into a game. Hume is relatively high energy and will require daily exercise and stimulation throughout his life to keep him happy and healthy.
Hume is very smart and trainable. He learnt sit and drop in the same day. He is motivated by food and toys, and he is willing to please so will even offer the behaviours to get your attention. Hume will require a family who are committed to continuing his training as it is an important aspect of his life, not just for behaviour but also as a form of mental stimulation. He has working breeds in him and his new family should be aware that he will require stimulation such as training and treat/food puzzles. Hume will need some fine tuning on his toilet training in a new home but does know how to use puppy pads in the house, and he is crate trained at night where he sleeps through quietly.
We are looking for an active and experienced home for Hume where he will be a part of the family and included in the daily activities and outings. Ideally there will be another playful dog in the household; however, an exceptional home where someone is home most of the time will be considered. He should be allowed access indoors to be with the family and will require a warm bed or crate inside to sleep in at night. Hume may not be your typical dog but he is a fantastic character that will light up someone’s life.
If you would like to make this beautiful boy a part of your family then let us know by filling in an adoption enquiry on our website.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
